Halloween: The Game XP Farming — Fast Levels in Private and Public Matches
Published 2026-09-176 min read
The fastest XP routes in Halloween: The Game: the cellar reopen loop, the civilian calm trick, police badge calls and the Loomis respawn knockdown loop.
Levels unlock Michael's abilities and survivor perks, so sooner or later every player asks the same question: what actually earns XP fast? The answer splits into private lobbies — where the big repeatable loops live — and public matches, where you take what the match gives you.

Private Lobby Routes (2 Players Minimum)
A private match needs at least two players — one survivor, one Michael. With that, four loops carry a level from zero in minutes.
1. The Cellar Reopen Loop — ~20,000 XP
The backbone of private farming:
- Find bolt cutters or an escape key and open the nearest cellar.
- The Michael player collapses the cellar entrance.
- Open it again. Repeat.
Twenty open-collapse cycles land roughly 20,000 XP. Simple, steady, no randomness.
2. The Civilian Calm Trick — 5,000 to 10,000+ XP
Built on the order system:
- Talk to any civilian NPC and give an order — the most efficient choice is "follow me", then immediately shove the NPC to skip the dialogue.
- Civilians have a chance to get startled by this. When they do, calm them down — that is where the XP is.
- Repeat the startle-calm cycle until the XP stops paying out.
The startle chance looks random, with Michael nearby seemingly raising it. Depending on luck and whether the same NPC can be calmed repeatedly, one match nets 5,000 to 10,000+ XP.
3. The Police Badge Loop — 6,000 to 8,000 XP
Find a phone and keep calling the police until you collect 3 badges. Each call runs a skill check: landing "perfect" rather than "good" results is what pushes the total toward 6,000–8,000 XP.
4. The Loomis Respawn Loop — 15,000+ XP
After you die, you return to the match as Dr. Loomis — and this is where the biggest numbers live:
- Hunt Michael and knock him down, over and over.
- Each knockdown slightly raises his stats, but he can always be knocked down again — no cap has been found yet.
- Keep looping until the match timer nearly ends, then finish with the arrest for a bonus 3,500 XP.
Total: 15,000+ XP per run, scaleable with how long you drag it out.
Passive XP Worth Grabbing Anyway
- Repair the car (repair kit + fuel) and escort high-value targets out: 2,500 XP per successful escort — the best organic XP in the game, and the core reason civilian-first play levels you fastest.
- Toggle the breaker box: 50 XP per switch. Small, but it stacks over a match; worth doing in public lobbies, not worth a private setup.
- Talk to civilians and escort more of them out — rescuing beats running solo every time.
- Loot every box, drawer and container: 25 XP each. The payout eventually caps out, but the cap sits high enough that normal play never hits it — loot while you walk.
- Lockpicking: also 25 XP, but slow — not worth going out of your way for.
- Returning as Loomis or police re-rolls a 50 XP interaction too.
Public Matches
Every trick above works in public lobbies — the returns are just smaller without a coordinated partner. Priorities for solo queue:
- Stack police badges from phone calls.
- Use the civilian order trick whenever NPCs are around.
- Complete every XP-bearing action you pass: repairs, escorts, looting.
That is the whole economy: private lobbies for bulk levels, public matches for steady progress while you actually play.
