The survivors of Halloween: The Game are the Heroes of Haddonfield — the playable civilian roster facing off against Michael Myers in multiplayer. This page covers who you can play, how survivor stats work, and the short version of how to win; the full escape-and-escort playbook lives in the survivor beginner guide.

Story-only Haddonfield faces — Rachel Calahan, Jennifer Aarons, Tanya Harrison, the Navarros, Darla the bartender and the Smith's Grove staff — are documented on the characters overview.

The four survivor stats

Every survivor rolls four stats that shape how they handle a night in Haddonfield. The game never explains them in-game — everything below comes from community testing:

  • Melee — your strength in close-quarters fights.
  • Athleticism — movement speed and stamina pool; drives long chases and map traversal. Low athleticism ruins stamina and window dives (see Eric Dunn).
  • Composure — faster civilian interactions and faster police calls, plus resistance to fear. Very low composure makes phoning the police nearly useless.
  • Ingenuity — how well you repair, drive, and handle guns.

Individual numbers per character come from community-compiled breakdowns shared by tutorial creators, and they have not all been re-verified — treat specific stat values as Unconfirmed unless a page here marks them verified.

Perks and loadout

  • Personal perks: press T on the character select screen — each character has perks that are always applied when you play them.
  • Starting item: beyond appearance you can set a starting item, unlocked by leveling individual characters — for example Lynda's pocket knife and Annie's flare gun at level 10, and Laurie's repair kit at level 15.
  • Perk deck: you can edit which perks are in your deck — equipped perks are the ones most likely to appear during matches. Match XP converts into perk points to roll, upgrade or scrap them (details in the achievements overview).

How to win as a survivor

The win condition has a clear order of operations — secure the NPC civilians first, then yourself:

  1. Find the three special civilians (yellow circles on your map) and tell them to hide immediately — they are worth the most and Michael hunts them hardest.
  2. Unlock an escape — cellar, gate, sedan or police car; each needs its own items (full escape matrix).
  3. Walk everyone out. Multiple civilians escaping outranks your own survival every time — escaping alone is a consolation prize.
